Many people submitt their words to be trademarked. I am currently in the process of having a trademark name because i purchase a domain name with only has 6 letters. domain names are getting scarse now a days. it used to be that you could make up a domain name out of the blue and it would be available. but now, its crazy. everyone is trying to jump into the domain s to make money. these people sell them at higher prices. but if you have a trademark, then you can protect the domain name from being infrinched upon. having a trademark is good because you can get the domain name from whoever currently owns it. that is of couse they themselves dont have it already trademarked and beat you to it.
