If you are getting this error is because the file you are trying to upload is too big. You need to upload a smaller size file. Most likely you are trying to upload an image or a picture, because the image is too big, the system will not allow it to upload. A common script that will give this error are scripts that ask to upload a picture like wordpress or any gallery script.
Your PHP installation has a max cap of 8MB per pageload -- which in many cases is more than enough, but apparently not for your site if you get this error. Increasing your memory cap is the fastest/easiest way around this. Ask your host if they can maybe double it to 16MB. Or if you own your own server, change it in the php.ini file in /etc/php.ini.
